Only three (3) company car (vehicle fixed asset) ledgers have been found. They are dated 3/31/1967, 7/31/1967, and 8/31/1967. The 3-digit number that follows the CC for some cars listed is the fixed asset number. These have been discovered on the two-inch square decals affixed to the bottom corners of the windshield. It is our theory that the numbers were assigned after Ford took control, circa April 1967. It is probable that cars in different locations (other than LAX) didn't receive the windshield decals when the vehicle fixed asset numbers were appropriated - perhaps out of sight, out of mind... For example, #0003, #0385, #0751, #0848, #1108 were in Dearborn through the end of the '67 program, according to the Loss of Use of Company Vehicles Invoice. It is the SRG's belief that "HOR" stands for Home Office Reserve and indicates that Ford specifically requisitioned the car for a purpose. It is possible that SAI was not invoiced for any of the special-purpose Ford-requisitioned HOR units. We have found the handwritten code (X50) circled on Production Orders for a couple of H.O.R. units that we've obtained. We expect to find other examples and theorize that X50 is the billing code for HOR-designated units in the second half of production. Though the replacement cars for those damaged in the train derailment were designated "HOR," they have been excluded from this query as they were neither company cars nor special-purpose vehicles. Cars that were leased to retail customers, even though they appear on the ledgers, have been excluded from this list. There may be additional HOR cars, however, without reviewing the Production Orders, we can't be certain.
