A Delivery Receipt (a/k/a/ a Bill of Lading) was generated for
each batch of cars released to the shipping contractor. A
Delivery Receipt itemized one or more cars. Throughout the '67 model year, Shelby American used several automotive transport companies. Initially, Kenosha Auto Transport was used out of LAX, likely carried over from '66 production. Kenosha Auto Transport appears to have been replaced by Hadley Auto Transport in early November 1966. Finally, it appears E+L was used in October 1967 for transporting regional inventory units that were stored at Ford's Dearborn Assembly Plant. Delivery Receipt 1139 includes a list of cars that were released to Hadley Auto Transport.
Shipping Daet cells shaded in yellow are automatically highlighted because the shipping date printed in the SAAC registry predates the the actual Delivery Receipt's date. This may be cased on some other paperwork that we haven't seen, or could simply be more errors in the book. Based on factory paperwork, the SRG theorizes that if a car's
Production Order references "E+L," that the car was located in
Michigan, whether or not it was spcifically stated to be Wixom
or Dearborn 'Regional Inventory.' E+L Transport Company was
based in Michigan and was FoMoCo's Michigan shipping vendor. See Also |
