The First Cars Built, Sequenced, Completed

  view data

The goals of this query are to identify any pattern(s) behind the assignment of Shelby car numbers, identify early auto show cars, and demonstrate how dealer showroom cars were shipped to the furthest dealers first.

Assignment is clearly not based on the Fordsequence number, or the date the unit was initially built by Ford's San Jose plant. Also, it is not based on the order in which the cars were completed by Shelby American at the airport facility.

Based on our research, the SRG believes that the Shelby car numbers were assigned in the order the cars were unloaded from transport trucks, parked, and inventoried behind the hangar.

To continue testing our active theory, we need to gather more shipping dates (a/k/a/ 'Released Date') found in the Ford Computer Record (FCR) and reflected on Marti Reports.

Reviewing The Data

  • Maximum days between FSJ built & SAI completion: 76
  • Median days between FSJ built & SAI completion: 24
  • Average days between FSJ built & SAI completion: 25
