3,225 Cars became '67 Shelby GTs. 3,224 were requisitioned via Domestic Special Orders (DSOs). One car, 67211F7A00176 (#0176), was not ordered by DSO. This car was a Ford promotional unit in Los Angeles that was sent to Shelby to be transformed into the Lime Gold advertising car. Originally a heavility optioned 289-2V (C-code) painted Clearwater Aqua with a Deluxe aqual vinyl interior. All '65-'67 Shelby GTs were initially built at Ford's San Jose (Milipitas) assembly plant. Shelby units were a modified build of the Ford Mustang and were delivered to Shelby American with specific features added and deleted.

From what we've discovered, there are four known variations to the Shelby VIN nomenclature. In addition, some Shelby VINs were misstamped, and misstamped characters are not reflected in this table. Components
Radio Not all '67 Shelby G.T. cars were factory-equipped with an AM pushbutton radio.
Note: The only authoritative way to know whether a car had a radio or not, would be to obtain the car's Shelby factory paperwork (Production Order and/or Dealer Invoice) from Dave Mathews.
